Abstract
Translation:
Education—and among its branches, moral education—is the most important philosophy behind the mission of the prophets, and consequently the foremost objective of the Alawi educational system. Since achieving any goal requires well‑calculated principles, Alawi moral education is no exception and likewise demands fundamental principles, which this study seeks to uncover. To achieve this aim, we employed a descriptive‑analytical method and, by articulating the essential properties of the subject, arrived at the principles through logical analysis.
Ultimately, we found that in the Alawi school, as in other schools of thought, moral education encompasses numerous principles, among which several are foundational. These include: the principle of God‑centeredness, the principle of innate disposition (fiṭrah), comprehensiveness, the primacy of the soul over the body, moderation, human dignity, and the principle of afterlife‑orientation. Among these, the doctrines of origin and return—in other words, God‑centeredness and afterlife‑orientation—emerge as the most fundamental principles of moral education. In the present study, the explanation of these principles is offered with a more coherent and distinctive perspective, and they are shown to be applicable in light of Qur’anic verses.
