Abstract
The discussion of “perfect human” is of great importance, as it has been mentioned in almost all religions and schools of thought. The definition of a perfect man has fundamental characteristics that have been mentioned in various ways. The present article seeks to explain these characteristics in Islam, and specifically in the words of Imam Ali (‘a), and also in the fields of science and literature, and particularly in the words of Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi. In enumerating the fundamental characteristics of the perfect Alavi man and the perfect Rumi man, by referring to the sayings of Imam Ali (‘a), especially Nahj al-Balaghah, and also Rumi’s poems, especially Mathnavi Ma’navi, it was concluded that the perfect human, in both the Imam Ali’s (‘a) and Rumi’s views, shares fundamental characteristics including theism, belief in the hereafter, esoteric vision, and altruism
